Spalding Area Christian Homeschoolers (SACH)
Bylaws
Article I - Name
The name of the organization shall be Spalding
Area Christian Homeschoolers
(SACH).
Article II -
Overview
SACH is a Conservative Evangelical Christian homeschool
support group of home educating families dedicated to observing the
Biblical commands of Deuteronomy 6:4-9: Proverbs 22:6, and Ephesians
6:4. We encourage all members to be involved in a local Bible
believing church of their own choosing. SACH is a very active group
that offers many choices and events that provide wonderful
opportunities for the children to increase their knowledge and enjoy
social interaction. SACH is based in Spalding County, Ga., but we
also serve the surrounding counties of: Fayette, Henry, Pike, Lamar,
Butts, Upson, Coweta and Monroe.
Article III - SACH Mission
Statement
1. To represent the homeschool community in a manner
that honors Jesus Christ.
2. To provide SACH Members with social
interaction through family social events, educational field trips,
and group activities for our children.
3. Providing encouragement
and support to Christian homeschooling families within the Spalding
County area.
4. To provide an atmosphere for exchange of teaching
techniques and curriculum information.
5. To keep the group
informed of any pertinent homeschool current events such as
seminars, conferences, and legal issues.
6. To protect the future
freedoms of home education in Georgia and in our nation, by
promoting public awareness of home education by interacting with
elected representatives, public officials, and the general
public.
Article IV - SACH Statement of
Faith
We
believe:
1. The Bible to be the inspired, infallible, divinely
preserved Word of God, the supreme and final authority for all faith
and life. (2 Timothy 3:16).
2. God is one Being who eternally
exists as three Persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit; all Persons
being equal in power and glory (Matthew 28: 19, 2 Corinthians
13:14).
3. Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man (John 1:1,
14), born of a virgin (Matthew 1:18, 22-23) and sinless in His life
(Hebrews 4:15). He died on the cross as a substitute for
sinful men (2 Corinthians 5:21, Isaiah 53: 5-6). He rose
bodily from the grave (John 20: 1-9, 24-31, Acts 2:24) and now
reigns with the Father (Acts 7:55, Hebrews 10:12). He will
return visibly and personally to the earth in both salvation and
judgment (Titus 2:13, Hebrews 9:28, Matthew 24:30).
4. That man
was created in the image of God, but fell into sin and is therefore
lost, and only those who put their faith in Jesus Christ alone, not
trusting in any personal works whatsoever, can be Saved/Born Again.
(Ephesians 2:8-9)
5. That salvation is the free gift of God
brought to the sinner by grace and received by personal faith in the
Lord Jesus Christ, Whose substitutionary death on the cross paid the
penalty for man's sin. (John 3: 3 - 7, Acts 4: 12)
6. That the
ministry of the Holy Spirit is to convict mankind; indwell, guide,
instruct, and empower the believer for godly living and
service.
7. That God created man and woman after His own Image,
and that God has ordained marriage, consisting of one man and one
woman, to be the foundation of the family and to be the only
legitimate and Godly expression of sexuality. We reject homosexual
marriages and homosexual orientation, because it is contrary to
Scripture and the intentions of God in creation (Romans 1: 18-32,
Leviticus 20: 13). We believe that such relationships are
destructive to children and the very idea of “family”. In
addition, we reject co-habitational relationships outside of
marriage as being equally in violation of God’s laws and incapable
of providing the long-term nurture and instruction needed by
children and commanded by God (Proverbs 1: 8-9, 2: 1-11, Colossians
3:21, Ephesians 6:4). In view of this, no homosexual or merely
co-habitating “parents” are eligible for membership (Hebrews 13: 4,
1 Corinthians 5: 11, 6: 9-10).
8. In the spiritual unity of
believers through our common faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, and
that individual doctrinal differences which may exist, outside of
the aforementioned (Article IV Sections 1‑7), should not hinder the
unity of Christian home educators.
We believe that the education of one’s children is
an inalienable right given by God, for which the government can
neither create, destroy, or alter. Parents may delegate to
others certain aspects of their children’s education, but
ultimately, all education must be under the control and supervision
of parents. Therefore, we believe the ultimate responsibility
for the education of children belongs to parents (Deuteronomy 4: 9,
6: 4-9, 6: 20-25, Proverbs 4:4).
As Christians, we believe that all education should have
as it’s beginning the fear of God and as its end, the glory of God
(Proverbs 1:7, Romans 11: 33-36). We specifically reject as
anti-Christian the following: secular humanism, the general theory
of evolution, one-world government, government-mandated sex
education, government-mandated parenting courses, radical feminist
ideology, abortion, New-Age philosophy, and the so-called
“gay-rights” agenda.
Article V - SACH Decorum/ Rules for
conduct
Field Trips, Social Events and other Extra Curricular
Activities provide a wonderful opportunity for our children to
increase their knowledge and enjoy social interaction. It is
important that we present ourselves in a manner that is a positive
reflection on home education. Many who observe us may never realize
the total life commitment our families have made in training up our
children. We will simply be judged on our behavior and social savvy.
We have a responsibility to our Lord to represent his name as the
Spalding Area CHRISTIAN Homeschoolers. Also, whether we like it or
not, we are advertisements for the Homeschool
movement.
Therefore, as a group, we must strive to adhere to the
following guidelines for SACH social events, field trips, meetings,

questions for the appropriate time and speak in an audible tone.
